Everett

Less than 45 minutes from Seattle, Everett is a bustling business epicenter with a majestic natural backdrop. Snohomish County’s largest city is home to the second-largest marina on the West Coast and Boeing’s jumbo jet assembly plant, the largest building by volume in the world.

Must-see attractions in Everett include the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour and Flying Heritage Collection. Families traveling with kids love Imagine Children’s Museum and Jetty Island, a little man-made island with sandy beaches. Art lovers should stop by the Schack Art Center for exhibits and glassblowing, or enjoy live music or performing arts from Xfinity Arena, Everett Philharmonic Orchestra and Everett Performing Arts Center.

The area’s natural beauty is on display at the Nishiyama Japanese Garden, Evergreen Aboretum and Gardens and Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary. Everett also has more than 40 parks. Walter E. Hall Park, the largest in town, has a golf course and skate park; Howarth Park has a nice sandy beach on Puget Sound and Thornton A Sullivan Park is popular for swimming and fishing.

The Everett waterfront is also the headquarters of Naval Station Everett. In the summer, the marina hosts the Everett Farmers Market and Waterfront Concert Series.
