Toppenish

The old-west town of Toppenish has several draws, but clearly the biggest are 69 murals hand-painted by professional artists depicting the town’s history.  In the heart of Washington’s wine and apple country, this proud community offers nearby recreation in the Cascade Mountains, stunning views and over 300 days of sunshine a year.

Wander the city streets lined with old fashioned street lamps and western themed shops and restaurants.  Take the self-guided tour of the 70 historic murals gracing the sides of downtown buildings.  For a narrated tour of the murals, enjoy a tour by horse drawn wagon and learn the history of the area through its famous paintings.

Discover Toppenish’s three unique museums offering an exciting look into the history of the area.  Visit the American Hop Museum, the only one of its kind in the world.  See the Yakama Nation Cultural Center offering impressive dioramas and displays depicting the life and history of the Yakama Indians.  Housed in the 1911 Toppenish Depot,  the Yakima Valley Rail & Steam Museum offers exhibits of railroading artifacts and memorabilia.
